Butterflies Won't Tell

A butterfly flits by
Under the bridge to hide
And doesn't wish to tell exactly why

Nerves unravel where they lie
Let's not be fit to tie
A butterfly flits by

Rainy drops will catch the eye
Cover the head from a cloudy sky
Under the bridge to hide

Ripples in the Frost

Frigid to bare touch
Rippling in splendid patterns
Over porches and glass windows
Soft feathery ferns surround
Tight whimsical swirls of frost

Under the Wind We Hide

Wind howls
Loud
Beat down
Hurdles over the ground
Whooshing down
We won't make a sound
Hooves pound
Whispers abound
Loud
Beat down
We won't make a sound
The river runs over ground
Would make the mighty falls proud
So loud
We hear them drown
As the wind pounds down
Howling as the wisps roll in to shroud
We won't make a sound
For darkness is abound

Wake and Awake

Wake, wake, awake, awake
Five
Six
Seven
Eight...
...
  ...
...
   ...
Why are we still awake? ...
...
    ...
  ...
Talking, talking...
I can't understand them
Talking, talking-
I can't understand them
...

...

...

Babbling, babbling...
There's a barrier there
The sound...
Washes over me.
Maybe if I'd spent more time-

...
  ...
    ...
It's a blessing and a curse
Because I can't understand
And because I can't understand
    ...
  ...
...
And I can't sleep

Can't sleep...
  ...
  ...
...
     ...
I can't understand-
And...

            I'm glad

I can't understand-
And...
  I think...

             I'm sad

I'm glad... and sad
...
  ...
...
    ...
And I can't sleep

I just...

And I want to break it down
The barrier

.

Talking

.
But
It's not pretty sometimes

They don't want me to see
And
I believe them

.

Babbling

.
So
I don't want to break it down

What
What use could I even be

Since

.

Talking

.
I don't
I don't even know about
All of these things

The things

And I want to break it down

But
.

Babbling

.
And I just...
              really...
      I can't...
Just-

.
.
.

      awake
...
    ...
  ...
      ...
...

I can't-

Sleep

...

..

Truth

Gaudy, burnt, ugly, hurt
Hard to know what
Look all you want
Do not try and pry
That dark, dank rot
No, go far away

Love

Much is given
Full of Life
Foolish, Wise, Joy, Loss
You, me, we

Vanishing Blue

My tears are blue
My solemnity is true
To where my thoughts have gone
A place so very strange
And for that I’d have to blame
This wicked, twisted game

It’s a fairly simple game;
Its box is a lovely blue
The goal: to find a target to blame
Does not matter if it is true
Not all see how that is strange
They are the ones who end up gone

I was almost gone
A victim of this game
It wouldn’t have been strange
For me to drown in blue
Though it could still happen, true
I’d only have myself to blame

At least, you’d tell me I’m to blame
That’s how it’s always gone
We both know that is true
Those are the rules to this game
Where my thoughts get colored blue
And no one thinks it’s strange

And now my mind is oh so strange
And I really don’t know who to blame
As now my soul is turning blue
Its pieces almost gone
Being stolen by this game
Though you tell me that’s not true

And it’s hard to tell just what is true
It leaves me feeling strange
And I wonder how long we’ve played this game
That is always seeking blame
And then that thought is gone
To be replaced by blue

I’m stuck in this game
That claims to be true
I can’t escape the strange,
                           the blue,
                                    the blame

Hello, This...

Hello
Goodbye
I just want to rant
And not making sense
I laugh
It’s not funny
I’m doing it again
I’m hopeless
And running
And running in circles
That happens a lot
This running in circles
Hello
Goodbye
I laugh ‘cause it’s not funny
Not funny
It’s not
And sense is not made
And that’s why it’s funny
But it’s not
I’ve ranted
It’s done
It wasn’t here, but it’s done
I want to curl up in a corner
And laugh
Because crying-
I did that already
It was fun while it lasted
Crying’s not fun
It happens sometimes
Hello
Goodbye
Did I say that already…

...Doesn't Make Sense

You’re not sure what’s going on
I’m not trying to make sense
You look and read
And it doesn’t make sense
Only in my head
And you aren’t in my head
I’m talking to you-
The reader
Yes, I’m talking to you
And sometimes
Things
Just don’t make sense
Or maybe you think that they do
Maybe
It looks like it does
And good for you
That it does
Make sense that is
In some way to you
‘Cause it doesen’t to me

Quote - Poetry

"Find joy in happy poetry. It doesn't have to be your own. It's okay if it's not."

Let the Tears Flow

Let the tears flow
Let them Heal you
Let them Cleanse you
Feel a calm
That maybe
you don't really
Feel
But one
That maybe
You need anyway
A calm
To keep you sane
Keep you grounded
Keep you safe
Keep you
Guarded
Let the tears
Keep you sane

Silver Lining

Sitting
In an open space
I listen
As the world fades out
And I hear things
As if underwater
Cushioned
From the chaos of the world
Peaceful
In this litle bubble
Where nothing can get to me

Frigid

I often feel
cold
and detached
You see this
in what I say
Or more
in what I write.
Cold
So very cold
and numb.
Clinical.
Sterile.
Just deliver the message
And leave you empty.
It's freezing
And these are my words
So...
      So...
C
  o
    l
      d.

So Very Dry

My tears are dry
I can only cry
I cannot speak
I cannot ask for my family
I am lonely
I am a failure
I cannot face them
I cannot speak
I...
    I...
Crying.
The tears are back
My voice is still gone
I am gone
Alone
And Failing
And Disappointing
I...
    failure...
              crying...
I am only crying
How many times...
Will the tears dry up...
                        and then start again.
So far away
Not here
Not here at all
I...
    I...
        I...
I am alone
Alone.
All...

                   alone

Sympathy

Hopeless

Pathetic

Lost

        all

             fight

No will to

                 fight

They never even

                                    pushed you

                                                         You just

                                                                         fell

Hopeless

                    Pathetic

No one pushed you

                                     You just fell

                          down

No

       will

               to

                    get

                          up

Just keep on

                            existing

In guilt

            for being

                                 useless

by your own doing

                                             Your own

                         lack of will

Hiding

                                     and

Broken

For no good reason

You isolate

                       yourself

Because of your

                                failure

That you know wouldn’t happen

If you hadn’t

                      fallen

On your own

                      accord

Without any

                      push

To

      give

              up

                   your

                             will

Hopeless

                      Pathetic

And deserves

No

Sympathy

My Painted World Of Colors

Bring my world alive with color
Find the pattern where I will thrive
That will take me high into the sky
A sky of bright blue pastels
Help me make my pattern of paint
A rainbow of hues bright and alive

I struggle to keep my world alive
I’ve let my world become gray in color
And now I’m crying over fading paint
My world cries out as it ceases to thrive
My beautiful hues turn into a dull pastel
My once bright blues now make a muddy red sky

Why won’t you help me repaint my sky
And bring this place back alive
And make bright again my blue pastels
Why won’t you help me fix my colors
Why won’t you help my world to thrive
And help to brighten my fading paint

My world is melting into a swirl of black paint
A pitch black arrow has torn my sky
Painted songbird takes a dive it cannot thrive
Like hot wax this place will melt alive
My world is hopeless now for color
And now I see none but one pastel

Now it’s gone that last pastel
And now it seems you’ve hid my paint
It seems you never cared for my color
I should have known as things faded from my sky
You never cared if my world was alive
You never wanted me to thrive

Now I struggle to survive and wish to thrive
And wish to see again my bright pastels
And wish to see again my world alive
With splashes and splatters of beautiful paint
With bright hues of blue high in my sky
I wish, I wish to see my vibrant colors

I don’t know how to stay alive
I cannot find a way to thrive
My world fell apart, no pastels, no color, and you stole my paint

The Frost Flower

This bitter white flower
Prone to trampling feet
The horrid winds will beat
A heart so cold, like glass will shatter

Cruel blizzard, white flower lost forever
So fragile will break like glass on concrete
Nature’s tantrum it cannot defeat
So lonely and frozen the lovely frost flower

So build a white wall, strong and tall
A fort meant to defend
A wall that will never fall

Frost flower now will not hear the call
Of the whirling wind the world will send
Protected now from all

A Forever Surrender

I will never never surrender,
Madness and Brashness are to blame,
Frayed mind will fight Forever.

You say stay sane, I say never,
This war is when insanity came.
I will never never surrender.

I think this plan is very clever,
A night lamp’s light shows my game,
Frayed mind will fight Forever.

My scattered mind will render,
All counter plans quite lame.
I will never never surrender.

I’ll fight through stormy weather,
I’ll fight through raging flame,
Frayed mind will fight Forever.

With nothing to lose and everything to remember,
I will not lie and play at acting tame,
I will never never surrender,
Frayed mind will fight Forever.
